If the Hatton/Mayweather fight goes to a decision, and Hatton gets jobbed in a typical Vegas rip off, the Brits may have the city of Las Vegas wishing the NBA All-Star game was in town!

Have you ever seen scenes from riots in the stands at British Soccer matches? And that's the Brits beating up on themselves! Add a long-time chip on the shoulder from a little bit ‘o History called the Revolutionary War and can you imagine what these guys will do to some punk tourists from California wearing Mayweather T-shirts?

I doubt it will come to that though - although there is no guarantee that even if Hatton gets beat legitimately that the Brits won't destroy Vegas, soccer-style. I feel Floyd is underpriced, but most books look for balance and if you made him -300 or higher you wouldn't get it, and you'd be giving away more on Hatton than you have to. Floyd, despite all his attributes, is still a tough sell. He's just not that popular, and it seems that more and more these days the popularity he does have comes from being disliked, rather than admired. And his annoying habit of referring to himself in the self-glorifying third person singular doesn't help much.  I think they are both fighting at a weight that is above their best, but Floyd comes by it more naturally I think, and is stronger and more comfortable in this zone. Hatton isn't a boxer, and he is way outclassed, skills-wise. And he is easy to hit. Floyd will do what Floyd always does, and does best - stick and move. His tremendous talent is hitting, and not being there when you go to hit him back. The more frustrated Hatton gets from chasing him, the wilder he is going to get. The wilder he gets, the more left open he'll be. The more left open, the more he'll get hit upside his head!

You're laying better than 2-1 on either Floyd or the over 11' in the round prop.  Of the two, I'd say the round prop is the better bet. Floyd won't KO Hatton, so no worries about an Under there. Hatton won't be able to KO Floyd - he's not strong enough, but mainly because of Mayweather's boxing, defense and unabashed lack of shame at turning to a runner if he feels Hatton is getting to him, so no KO worries there. I bought the Over in this one at -210. I also like the Over in the Lacy fight on the undercard.

Mayweather's rep for invincibility has taken a beating lately, as we just saw Marie Osmond, Jenny Garth and Somebody-Spice take him down. YES, I bet on Dancing on the Stars (I had Marie in a near miss.) I'd probably bet on a slug race if you offered me odds. I wouldn't WATCH it, but I might bet it.

In my opinion, only Floyd can beat Floyd in this one. I am concerned because he seems a bit disinterested with the fight game at this point. Regardless of the outcome, the emotion in the arena should reach Holyfield-Lewis type of fever. One of the best fights I ever saw was ‘Vander and Lennox, not because of what transpired in the ring, which was actually quite boring, but because of the electricity at ringside. Like that bout, Hatton vs. Mayweather will be 1776, the Revolutionary War revisited, as it is anytime the US and Brits meet in a sporting event. And listening to the British fans sing their soccer chant-thing to the tune of "Winter Wonderland" is an amazing experience when you are part of the audience. It negates any hometown advantage, which I don't think Floyd has anyway, as his conduct outside the ring (and sometimes in it) through the years has not made him a fan favorite.

It's just my opinion, but the Brits put the more laid back American fans to shame when it comes to rooting on your team. But then again, to our credit, we do have better teeth and we don't have full scale riots in the stands, either. Well, at least not outside of Philadelphia . .

Selection - This is the time of year we start to try and identify quitters in the NFL, teams that will not make the playoffs and don't play hard in their final games. Marvin and his Bengals are 5-11 in the last four games of the season over the past four years. Does ANYONE think he can get THIS group of underachievers to better that number this season? This is not a team I want to lay a TD with, especially to a bunch of guys that have won 3 of their last 4.

Take the seven.
