College Football 2016: Final Four Playoff Predictions

This year’s College Football final four predictions for many, can be determined by simply looking at odd makers.  However, I believe many lower seeded teams can make a serious push for the final four seating and bowl games.

In my mind, there are three clear teams that will have higher chances of making the final four due to past success and most importantly, since they have the highest odds of winning the national championship. These teams are the Alabama Crimson Tide at a Bet365 +650 odd of winning the national championship, the Clemson Tigers at Bet 365 +800 and the Ohio State Buckeyes at Bet365 +800 . This judgement of these three teams making the final four comes down to the fact that each of the three teams have had an established football program, whether in the past or present. Although, I have these three clear favourites to make the final four, my last team making the final four cut is somewhat unclear but, I have the Washington Huskies slotting in at the number four seed at Bet 365 +3300 of winning the national championship.

The defending champs, Alabama Crimson Tide are yet again poised to win another national championship despite, many players departing due to eligibility of the NFL Draft. With so much loaded talent in this upcoming year at both offense and defense and a brilliant coach in Nick Saban Alabama’s probability to make the final four increases each year. In addition, with Alabama’s relatively easy schedule it is more than likely we see the Crimson Tide come out on top of the SEC.

Next, the Clemson Tigers had a very good season in 2015 finishing with a 14-1 record and nearly missing out on a national championship. With Deshaun Watson entering quarterback for the 2016 season and the favourite to win the Heisman trophy and Mike Williams providing a boost at the wide receiver position the Clemson Tigers offence will be more than capable to exceed expectations. On the other hand, the Tigers defence will look to rebound entering a new season with loses to many key defensive players and should be an area of focus for the upcoming year. Nevertheless, with high odds to win it all and a favourable schedule the Tigers should win the ACC.

Likewise, the Ohio State Buckeyes had a very good season finishing with a 12-1 record. With high odds to win the national title and a very good quarterback in J.T. Barrett the Buckeyes should likely win the Big Ten conference even with loses of ten significantly talented players due to NFL drafting purposes.

Lastly, the Washington Huskies had a defining defense in the PAC 12 last season. With the defense being the strong spot of the overall team it will be up to the offense to execute their plays in order to win the PAC 12 conference in 2016. Additionally, with a somewhat unchallenging schedule look for the Huskies to make a serious push at the national title in spite of the fact, of having low odds to win it all.
