Euro 2016 Picks: England and Spain Finishing Touches

Euro2016 Picks

The Euro 2016 qualifiers continue this Thursday evening around Europe and the biggest games of the evening see the sides top of Groups E and C in England and Spain play their final home matches of this campaign. Both sides are expected to take all three points to send their fans home happy, but with both sides suffering from injuries will they be able to secure their final victories before they play their final games over the weekend or will we see some big shocks?

We preview both games with online sportsbook William Hill and provide our top Euro 2016 picks.

England v Estonia: 1.12 – 8.00 – 21.00

The winners of Group E who have won all of their eight matches played so far, scoring 26 goals and conceding just three, play their final match in qualification for the European Championships next summer in front of their own fans as Wembley Stadium hosts this England v Estonia clash. The visitors to London arrive looking for revenge after a narrow 1-0 defeat on home soil a year ago but with English boss Roy HodgsonΒ  having stated that he will not be experimenting during this match we feel that the odds making England the overwhelming favourites are correct.

England have scored 14 of their 26 goals in four of their eight matches at Wembley Stadium while they have conceded just a single goal in front of the fanatical home support so they will certainly be confident for this match. However, with strikers Wayne Rooney and Danny Ings out of the match they are down on numbers up front but with Harry Kane having scored three in three for his country and likely to start the match there is sure to be goals.

Estonia have failed to score in any of their away games in this campaign so far, losing to Lithuania, Switzerland and Slovenia whilst drawing 0-0 at San Marino to provide the minnows with their only point so far. As a result of this consistency of the lack of goals will see England win this match comfortably and that Harry Kane, who is sure to get his first start in England colours, will do as he’s done so well for his country so far and bag the first goal of the game.

Our top England v Estonia tip is back England to win and Harry Kane to score the first goal at odds of 3.80 in the William Hill Sportsbook.

Spain v Luxembourg: 1.01 – 17.00 – 34.00

After eight matches from Group C of the Euro 2016 qualification campaign Spain sit top of the pile having won seven of their eight games but with them having a large number of injury problems and suspensions they know that this game will be tougher than expected. They are just two points ahead of Slovakia and a further three ahead of Ukraine so they do need points from this match to secure their place in France next summer, but can they do so with their number of missing players?

The Spaniards are missing Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal and Andreas Iniesta through injury while Chelsea striker Diego Costa is suspended and this is expected to see former Real Madrid and current Juventus striker Alvaro Morata lead the line. The 22 year old is sure to get plenty of chances to score in this match as Luxembourg have conceded 11 goals in four away games, and has they have failed to score in their last three matches we see this being a straightforward victory for the home team.

The value on this match with Spain being available at odds of 1.01 to win comes on players to score goals rather than the outright markets. As a result of this we feel that Morata will get goals in this match and we’re backing the Spanish hitman to bag at least two goals at the Estadio Nuevo Municipal Las Gaunas.

Back Alvaro Morata to score two or more goals v Luxembourg @ 2.37 with WilliamHill.com.
