Not much on my mind this week in the way of sports, other
than a couple minutes wasted wondering who is more self-centered - A-Rod or
Juice Boy Bonds. Realized quickly that neither are worth the effort spent in
thought so I moved on to a bigger concern - my country by accident of birth,
the good ole US of A, may actually let that political piranha, Flip-Floppin
Carpetbagger Hillary Clinton into the White House.
I rarely talk politics in my columns, but this is one I just
don't get. McDougal pleaded the 5th and went to jail rather than give testimony
about Clinton - what does the
country think she was hiding? The only reason to not testify is because it
would incriminate Clinton. I know
we're supposed to be the "innocent until proven guilty" country but was it
necessary for us to have to get a conviction in this case to know Hillary was
covering up? And this, from the same liar who made $100,000.00 in an overnight
stock deal and when investigated said, ‘I just got lucky." But ya never hear
that big mouth mouse-looking skank Jennifer Garofalo mention that, eh?
Convenient thing, the political memory of the
I'm-so-righteous. Vince Foster's murdered corpse must be rolling in his grave
over this crap. I've threatened to do it before, but I'm telling ya, if Hillary
gets in I am joining my brothers in the Great White North. Maybe Greg D. has an
extra room in his new house and wouldn't mind adopting me . . .
But I digress.
6-4 in this space now, after last week's loss with the Skins
plus sixteen points.
This week, two plays for your Saturday card:
First play - Wisconsin
at Ohio State
Under 45.
A few stats - you have the number one ranked defense in the
country, Ohio State,
allowing just 8.9 points per game, versus the 34th ranked D in Wisky, allowing
20 points per game. Wisky scores an average of 30 points per game, but that
number drops drastically on the road, to just 17 points per. Let's go back to Ohio
State's defense - as stated above
they only 8.9 per. You can't get any better than that, right? They do - at
home, they give up an almost invisible 7 points per.
Expect 14-17 tops from Wisky here, and as Ohio
State is also the number one pass
ranked D in the land, # 1 again, allowing just 143 yards per game, expect to
see most of Wisky's effort come via the ground game. Both running games are
ranked top 20, so expect there to be little of an air show and much ground
play, eating the clock and keeping this one Under. And, all that aside, here is
the reason I bought the Under - the new NCAA football profile I began working
with two weeks ago was 4-1 in week one on totals, 2-1 last week, for
6-2overall, BUT . . . ALL SIX WINS HAVE COME ON Unders. This is the next game
that fits all necessary parameters, and though it won't stay perfect forever
(nothing does) I'll ride it until it loses.
Take Under 45 for 1 unit.
Second play - Troy +17 at Georgia
Another play from the new profile. Sides haven't performed
as well as totals, still tweaking it, but Troy
kicks out as a play, and they also fit another profile I use. Add this to the
fact that Georgia
comes off a big win over Florida,
so we have a spot that may find them a little flat. Troy
actually outranks Georgia
in some of the categories I track. They have a higher ranked rushing offense,
as well as a higher ranked passing defense. However, they fall behind miserably
in strength of schedule, ranked 108 to Georgia's
17. That may be the most important category of all. Troy
has already lost to two top caliber teams - Florida
and Arkansas, both by more than
the number they are getting here. But those two losses came in the beginning of
the season, when they were still getting the offense fine tuned. This is a
tough call, but the system says take Troy,
and the Bulldogs ;look just a bit too obvious to me.
I'm on Troy
(I see one 17 out there now, wait until tomorrow and there will be more 17's
available and maybe more.)
