Maiden Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $22,000 Class Rating: 55

#1 BLACKWATER FALLS (ML=5/1) - Have to give this gelding a good chance. Ran a nice effort last out within the last thirty days. I like this gelding. Has the uppermost earnings per start in here.
UNION REWARD - Generally speaking, horses on Lasix for the first time should be considered. That's what we have here. Jock jumped on this gelding's back for the 1st ride on Jan 11th. Should know the animal even better in today's contest. I believe the addition of blinks today will help this gelding focus his attention on racing.
SECRET THUNDER - In any contest of 6 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been sharp in sprint contests recently. The morning-line favorite is vulnerable here with the lack of morning blow outs. Improbable that the speed figure he recorded on December 2nd will hold up in this event.
SHIFTINGGEARS - This colt's sire just doesn't pop with first-timers.
SHOW EM THE LIGHTS - When looking at today's Equibase class figure, he will have to garner a better speed figure than last race out to vie in this dirt sprint.
