WEEK 4 PICKS – SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Michael Vick struggled against the Giants in one meeting last season and NFL odds makers were reluctant to favor the Eagles too heavily after last week’s loss but the current line is Philly -1.

Philly’s O-line has been a disappointment this season, giving up 3.0 QB sacks per game and a terrible 11.9-percent sack rate against the Cardinals last week and they’ll be hard pressed holding off a Giants front seven that started to gel last week in Carolina.

Overall, the Eagles rank 21st at 6.72-percent sack rate and that’s more than a percent higher than in 2011 (5.62-percent). The first task is to contain Vick and if New York can get pressure they’ll provide relief for a secondary that has gone through its fair share of injuries.

Tom Coughlin has been a solid play with extra prep time, going 3-1-1 ATS with 5 overs and 0 unders off a Thursday game since his days with the Jacksonville Jaguars. We expect the Giants to start strong and build a first-half lead, putting this division rival away early.

Online sportsbooks offer the Giants as a half-point favorite in the first-half and that’s a solid option, but for out official play we’ll take New York with the points. Pick: Take the Giants
