Here is a look at some of early Week 12 NFL odds with trends that are helping shape the line.

NFL WEEK 12 TRENDS

During the first 10 weeks of this year’s NFL season there was a total of 36 missed converts, or 3.6 per week. Apparently somebody spiked the specially marked ‘kicker punch’ in locker rooms across the nation Sunday, because a record-setting 12 singles were either missed, blocked or just botched.

That’s one shy of the per season average (playoffs included) from 2001-14 so for this week’s look-ahead feature we tried to identify trends for teams following a game where they missed an extra point.

FIRE THE KICKER!

The teams that missed an extra point Sunday were the Redskins, Lions, Vikings, Bears, Jags, Browns, Seahawks and Patriots. Cincy’s Mike Nugent and new Giants kicker Robbie Gould missed two apiece and we’ll start with them.

Cincy is at Baltimore (-4, O/U 41) this week and the Giants (-7, O/U 44.5) are at Cleveland. Only four teams since 2001 have missed two extra points in one game and those four teams went 3-1 SU/ATS the next time out.

Favorites that missed an extra point in 2015, which was the first year with snaps from the 15-yard line, bounced back with a 24-4 SU and 19-8-1 ATS record. That trend applies to Detroit (-3, 42.5), Seattle (-5, 45) and New England (-8.5, 47), who are laying points against the Vikes, Bucs and Jets respectively. Also note that teasing those teams in a 10-pointer went 27-1.

For dogs you’ll want to track this trend between Jacksonville and Buffalo (-7, 45.5). Pups getting at least a TD off a game where they missed an extra point are 4-21 O/U (84% UNDER) with any total between 37 and 47 points. This also applies to the Browns, who are hosting the Giants.

Good luck and happy U.S. Thanksgiving from Pick Sixty Sports!
