PlayNow.com has unveiled a major upgrade to their online sports betting platform. The online home for the BC Lottery Corporation, PlayNow.com officially launched in the summer of 2010, with this new sports offering being the first major feature update.
After a rocky start (we won’t rehash it, but let’s say they had a major system failure and a dreadful PR experience that first week), it’s been pretty smooth sailing for the PlayNow.com site. One week in on the new sports venture with European partners Paddy Power and Open Bet and things appear stable.
The members of the sports betting forum Everyedge.com weighed in early with their thoughts and we have a couple of players on the system that are going to report back to us with their user experience, which we’ll communicate in our on-going articles covering the Canadian sports lottery scene.
I’m also going to be keeping an eye on the business side of the BCLC, PlayNow.com and other lottery corporations across Canada. Particularly their marketing efforts and how they are competing in the online gaming space vs. other operators such as Pinnacle Sports, 5 Dimes, Bodog and others.
