I had to delete a few topics and I regret doing so.
We cannot allow posts about promotions at non-sponsors.
The sponsors that are here have been carefully chosen.
They have been promised exclusivity as part of their arrangement with us and being one of the elite chosen to advertise here.
THERE ARE REASONS some other books are not here and never will be. There are always new books opening and offering outrageous bonus deals to get some cash flow.
I don't recommend any of them.
I RECOMMEND THE SPONSORS THAT ARE HERE.
Please understand this - I do not recommend them because they are paying sponsors here, it is the other way around. They are sponsors BECAUSE I recommend them. And I do not recommend others.
If you have needs and desires as sports bettors, that are NOT met by any of the books promoted here, write to us and let us know. And we'll look to add them.
Please adhere to the 'no promoting' of other books policy.
It is only fair to those who participate.
thanks,
Sonny

If I dealt with a book that wasn’t a sponsor here but someone that was a regular poster had a problem I would want to read about it. Without an edit! This is a place where people stick up for one another and count on not being misguided, I understand that you have the forum best interests at heart but your post is suspect.\

Three key things that are makes my visit to the various forums are:

1) Trust
2) Integrity
3) And SOLID information

I could probably name a few other things but I have not enough time.

There are solid reasons why lurkers & posters should sign up with the above advertised books which I will do my best to detail later. PLEASE in the meantime do not edit this place which HAS BUILT ITS REPRUTATION on INTEGRITY & HONESTY.

OK, I'm really screwin up now. I went to delete my post below, to resend under my own ID (which I can't get into) and instead deleted the post above this, that asked a few questions which I answer below (the correct edit/delete button to use is the one on the BOTTOM of the post, not the TOP, which deletes the message above your own);

The post that begins this thread is from me, Sonny,
not from Doug. With the new system we are still getting id's and capabilities/functions worked out and distributed properly so I had to use Doug's id to edit. Now, being a computer illiterate/unfamiliar with this new sftwr I can't get back into my own.

Now let me answer some of your questions.

"If I dealt with a book that wasn’t a sponsor here but someone that was a regular poster had a problem I would want to read about it."
The post I wrote said NOTHING about not warning anyone of problems they are experiencing at ANY book.
It SPECIFICALLY addressed the issue of promotions from non-sponsors. The deleted posts were of a "hey, you can get XXX bonus from sportsbook XXX" nature. And THAT is what was deleted, not any warnings of problems.

"How many of the above sportsbooks have you dealt with and what was your experience"?
All of them. And if my experience was not a positive one, if the background checks I was able to do did not come up clean they would not be here. Period.

"And also how much are you paid"?
A personal question, and in bad taste.
But I'm sure the dollar amount is inconsequential to you. What you are really asking is "is money my prime motivation in doing these edits". Yes, of course it is. That is why you see every book in the world listed here, instead of a few well chosen ones (that would only serve to limit my income).
I am only in it for the money so I let in every book that wants your sign up money.
And every tout ad I can get too.

You want to advertise your business, do you get free billboards? Magazine space? Newspaper ads? Tv commercials? No, of course not. I don't know of any succesful medium that takes paid ads from sponsors and also allows non-business partners to promote their product with free ads. Why would we be any different?

I edit for 2 reasons - to protect players here from new, unproven books that offer outrageous signup bonuses in order to get some cash flow;
and to honor my commitment to the sponsors I have chosen.

You say you visit various forums - I have also.
Other than everyedge tell me ONE that truly has the bettors interests at heart,
that limits sponsors as I do,
that doesn't expose you to touts,
that puts it's readers before it's income.
Tell me of one where bettors come first, as they do here.
There isn't one.

Hi Sonny,

I just re-read your first post and I misunderstood. NO promotions from non sponsors at this forum. I interpreted it as no discussion about books other than the ones that advertise here. Basically a restriction on open discussion for mature sports bettors.

You wrote,

"And also how much are you paid"?
A personal question, and in bad taste.

Huh? I just re-read my post about 5 times and nowhere did ask how much you’re paid although I do hope your compensated fairly.

You also wrote,

"How many of the above sportsbooks have you dealt with and what was your experience"?
All of them. And if my experience was not a positive one, if the background checks I was able to do did not come up clean they would not be here. Period.

I can’t find where I wrote that one either. I don’t think you would have to play there to determine wether or not they are a solid out. I’m sure that your well connected in the sports gambling industry and could determine the good books from the bad books fairly easily and quickly. Its safe to say that I’m interested in your experiences with the sportsbooks you use.

When I mentioned I visit other forums I meant the handicapping forum and the hockey forum. Those forums have the posters best interest at heart ALWAYS. I do venture over to MW on occasion and they seem to claim that they’re the no. 1 watchdog site. Their handicapping boards aren’t any where near the quality of the boards here. We both knew that already though.

I’m also embarrassed to say that I currently use 3 outs and none of them are EE sponsors. The next new book I go with will be BetAllWorld. The fact that BobbyAWS the BM is a poster here and is very responsive to any enquiry speaks volumes.

All for now!

O.K ..before i give my opinion on this ..let me first say i am a client of GCS , have always had great service ..and will always continue to be a client of GCS .. i am also a big fan of Sonny and love this forum. However, from what i have read, it seems that you are saying the offshore Forum is only to either a) promote the sponsors or b) trash the non sponsors ... to me this pretty much defeats the purpose of the forum.. Of course i can see why you and the sponsors don't want other books promoted here .. But do you see my point ?.. for example, i was made aware of a free play available at another site on this forum .. i signed up for it and made $500 american ....at no time was i ever even considering switching to the other site from GCS , but if not for this site i wouldn't have made the $500. But again, i also see your point , but in my opinion .. deleting the posts basically just makes this an advertising forum for the sponsors ..(which is fine by me if it keeps this great Forum going).

Without trying to put words in Sonny's mouth, let me throw out my interpretation, and how I don't see this becoming just a forum for sponsors.

The type of posts Sonny will delete are "XYZ is offering 50% bonuses," or "Did you try the free $40 account at XYZ?", with "XYZ" being a non-sponsor out.

Folks are free to post both the good and the bad about any outs, just without the promotions non-sponsor books offer.

The distinction is between "promoting" a book and saying it is solid, good lines, pays on time, etc.; and a non-sponsor's "promotions" such as free accounts and outrageous bonuses.

Another distinction I see being made is a first time poster coming in and asking about a non-sponsor book. Fishy at best IMO.

Point taken Glenn ..i agree that editing some posts is far preferable to allowing for the possibility of every new sportsbook using this as their advertsising forum to post their newest promo ...agreed.

Trader,
the ?'s I answered were in your post that I accidently deleted;
I shouldn't have posted a reply at all that day, and looking at it now my tone was out of line for a long time respected poster as yourself, sorry.
No excuse but it was a bad day for me and I should have waited until I returned and was in a better frame of mind.
I will return here tomorrow, address the issue, explain and expand on, answer Player, etc..
I'm too tired right now. I need sleep. And sanity.
