Slew/tmw/New.......my baby is running today.

Keeneland Race #5- Bridget Says #8- She has been training up a storm and has very nice turf breeding. We entered 2 races and the other came up much tougher than this one. McGee says she will take great to the turf and we are looking for no worse than 2nd today. Betting 20 UNITS WIN and 30 UNITS PLACE......Slew/TMW...check out her race at Lonestar.

here is my 2 cents worth on the race hope you dont mind since you just ask for certain opions but what the hell. i used the 8 in this race solely on the turf breeding it is a tough race to cap. it is loaded with horses that havnt ran the distance or have not ran on the grass thus it leave alot of horses with a chance looks to be alot of speed in the race which could hurt the #8. not the best of betting races so like the rest of keenland card betting this one small.

As you already know I don't know $hit about t'breds but do know that she is listed at 3/1 m/i. So somebody thinks enough of her. Unfortunately gonna miss the race but will advance wager a few dollars as my acct. has enough to buy her suger cubes, lol. Wish it was tomorrow Lou ( see my post on the pony thread)
ps wear your good luck tie for the picture...

ctown,

I respect your opinions and think you have handicapped correctly....hopefully she runs like we think she will and wins by 3 or 4......but it is horse racing and anything can happen and usually does....I am keeping my fingers crossed. I know she is ready and that is all I can ask for

louey you called her your baby. so does that mean you own this philly? and if so just wondering why the change of trainer after such a good race? was it because of moving to different track? thanks in advance

We bought her privately after her race at Lonestar. McGee is my normal trainer.

Audubon Stables and Mole Hole are what we run under

Hope that helps

louey;
gotta agree with tm...it's a tough race to cap,least for me.
a cursory look at the scenario of the race leads me to believe that the #10 horse will have to be gunning early to have a chance.he looks to have the best speed of the group and that does not bode well for the horses to his immediate left.
in fact i'd go so far to say there could be a lot of jostling and ground lost right out of the gate.
the breeding is certainly a consideration and your horse posesses the most class in the field,but i look for the #4 horse to pick-up the pieces when it's all said and done.
truly hope your horse runs to it's breeding and class.but i'ii have to pass on this one.
that being said,and my precarious position on the outskirts of siberia,your horse will probably win by 10 lengths..

good luck,louey

not so sure the #8 should be the key,but that looks like a very good exotic you have there tm.

Hey Lou,
sorry I saw this so late, I was down at the OTB.
RDouglas on the turf is a dangerous man....

Let me know when she runs again...

Well I am back....Wow she ran great to get beat by a nose or so. 1st time on grass and around two turns gives us some hope with this filly. Won some nice Cash as she paid a nice 5.60 to place.

ctown......sorry I did not respond, I left for Keeneland right after I replied the last time. This one was bred By John O, Audubon Farms, not the same as Audubon Stables. Audubon Stables has 1 mare....Hard Freeze and she has been bred to Unbridled, Strike the Gold and others and we usually sell all of the offsprings. We bought this one right after she broke her maiden at Lonestar.

Slew....Melancon is not under contract with Mcgee....I am friends with his agent and we ride him on a few that we think will win. I think he has ridden 10 times for Mcgee and won 5 times and has had 2 seconds for us......just a friend deal with my agent buddy....next time maybe we will try Douglas.

Lou,
didn't mean to sound like I was agianst Larry M;
I have just seen too many unbelievable turf rides by Douglas at Arlington...
he's Superman on the turf as far as I'm concerned; I have no problem with those who maintain he is the best turf rider in the country right now..

Slew....never took it that way. I agree Douglas is one of the best at turf.....he obviously liked his ride as he turned 2 others down in the same race( not us)......his agent is top notch too.

One more 2yr old in the barn....hoping to go at Churchill.

Lou;
here we are talking about RRDouglas with such fondness, and Albarado replaced him before the race on Lil Scout..lol. I'm glad I didn't know that earlier (might have helped the price too).

Here's the Arlington standings as of yesterday (not trying to beat a dead horse, but these aren't exactly world-beaters these guys are riding...and RR's have mostly come on the turf...need to find his % on the weeds)

OVERALL;
Rene R. Douglas 563 151 95 71 $4,595,522
Elvis Trujillo 387 80 62 54 $1,707,038
Robby Albarado 232 45 42 38 $1,658,395

Will be interesting to see how he rates at bigger meets when he has to face Bailey and the favorite in every other event...

Btw, your horse ran a good one today....congrats.
Next time it's yours for the taking...
