Hello everyone..........long time no post. Sorry bout that but I have been busy opening a blues club and haven't had much time for the ponies. Got a rare day off so thought I would play and post as my two favorite venues (GP and SA) are into the new season.
GP - Race 4 - #8 My countess - looks to be a favorite, but rightly so. Walder is an underrated trainer and is deadly off the claim. This guy fits at the level and loves to fire fresh. Look for an easy win at a short price with Velasquez up.
GP - Race 6 - #12 Groomerama - Going with the same Trainer/Jock Combo as above as this one is first back off the claim. This gal loves the distance and should be making some noise late. Lots of speed in the race to set up a late kick at what should be decent enough odds. Will not play this if under 3-1.
GP - Race 7 - Going with Snowdrops in a wide open affair. Clemente is one of my fave grass trainers and this miss is coming into form nicely for third off the layoff. Enough pace in the race to set up a closing kick and a cozy inside draw should have her well positioned making the turn for home. Overlay?? with the Mott/Bailey entry and a contentious race.............
GP- Race 9 - Timo - Ambitiously placed in the Hol Derby (G1) off of a five month break, second off the layoff should be a smasher. Pletcher/Velasquez combo another bonus off the trainer switch (private purchase?) and see this one getting a nice stalking trip behind a bunch of speed. 3-1 or better and i'm loading in.
SA - Race 2 - Da Svedonya - Gonna take a flyer here on this mare that looks to have a closing kick in a race with some cheap speed and long layoff types. Nice work on a good surface last week should have him set for a stalk and pounce trip if he likes the off going.
SA - Race 3 - Bushwacker - Could be long gone if the saddle doesn't slip this time, but will be prohibitive favorite. Worth using in win 3's as a key.
SA - Race 5 - #8 Flying Double up - Bottom level Maiden Claimers never get me excited but this filly could be lone speed in a race full of questionable beasts. Chased quick frac's last time only to fade down the lane for a non threatening fourth and should be tighter from that effort. Third lifetime start could be the charm at what should be decent odds.
Good luck with your plays everyone.......
