The Redskins head to Big D sporting a 4-6 mark, which at this point in the season usually means your playoff aspirations are done like turkey dinner…not this year and not in the NFC East. With the Giants floundering and the Cowboys doing their usual routine, this division is still up for grabs. A win here and a loss by the Giants vs. Green Bay and the Skins will be in a three-way race to the finish.
The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in the same position they do every Thanksgiving, at least that’s what it feels like to me. It always seems to be a must-win game to keep their playoff hopes alive and today is no different. This is a HUGE game for Dallas.
So we’ve established the importance of a win here for both franchises…who will win? Jerry Jones haters (and there are many), Tony Romo haters( not as many as Jerry, but certainly a hefty number) and Dallas Cowboy haters (see Jerry Jones) won’t be topping off their holiday festivities toasting a Cowboy loss…at least that’s how I see it.
The Cowboys can score points and the Redskins give up a lot of points. That combo will serve Dallas well here. Yes, Washington had a decent day last weekend, but c’mon, they were facing an Eagle team that has given up.
Add in the fact I like the Dallas D matched up against a Redskins offense devoid of playmakers, save for the very impressive RGIII and I see the Skins struggling to keep up.
This is the Dallas Cowboys, so of course their coaching staff (notably Jason Garrett and D-Co Ryan) can sabotage any game at any time. But I’m willing to take the risk and hope the home team can overcome the coaching gaffes that are certain to come.
