In the battle of the Big Apple, we’re looking a Total play from this matchup (with a lean to the underdog Giants +3).
Neither team have particularly adept at controlling opposing passing games, somewhat surprising for this Jet backfield, not so surprising for the Giants. The Giant secondary has been consistently roughed up, giving up big play after big play. We look for more of the same today. And the Jets have struggled when they’ve faced teams who are able to go vertical (see Dallas, New England the Eagles). The Giants fall into that category.
When the Giants have the ball, as all teams, they love to have a balanced attack, mixing in runs and passes to keep defenses off-balance, but injuries and defensive issues have forced them to go to the air more than they would like. But this passing game does present real problems for D-coordinators.
We expect both teams to be able to move the ball and we should see points produced on many drives.
