NCAA odds for the Sweet 16 matchups are getting a lot of attention Wednesday and we look at the latest numbers along with the impact it’s having with basketball futures.
PRIMETIME CARD
The first of eight Sweet 16 games includes Syracuse vs. Indiana (-5.5, O/U 135) at 9:45 pm eastern time (ET), Marquette vs. Miami (-5, O/U 127) at 7:15 pm ET, Arizona vs. Ohio State (-3.5, O/U 134) at 7:45 pm ET and La Salle vs. Wichita State (-4, O/U 135.5) rounding out the card with a 10:15 pm ET tip.
Louisville (+275), Indiana (+450), Florida (+525) and Ohio State (+800) are the top four teams favored to win the national title and the Cardinals will face the Oregon Ducks Friday night with Florida squaring off against this year’s darkhorse, Florida Gulf Coast.
As expected, Louisville and Florida have been posted as double-digit favorites but it hasn’t stopped bettors from hooking up the teams in every variation of moneyline parlay and teaser known to man. One sports betting insider said the biggest parlay books are taking this weekend involves Indiana to Miami and Louisville and a $100 moneyline wager pays back at +134.

Odds on winning their respective regions have dwindled to even money for the top faves but there are some key betting angles to consider in this weekend’s matchups:
Faves are just 5-11 ATS the past two years in this round and although just seven teams ranked lower than sixth have reached the Final Four since 1985, the pointspread is the great equalizer. Be sure to watch line movement leading up to game time for the best value when fading heavy chalk teams.
The gap between last week’s games gave coaches plenty of time to make adjustments but for winners of Thursday and Friday’s matchups it will be a much shorter turnaround. Take the time to check Sweet 16 boxscores and see what teams held the greatest scoring advantage in the second-half. It could provide great insight as to which coaches will have their clubs ready for the new challenges faced in the Elite 8 round of betting.
