Pinnacle Odds: California Golden Bears -13.5 at Oregon State Beavers +13.5 Total 71
Kick-Off is 10:00 ET for this PAC–12 contest as the Golden Bears travel to Corvallis to face the Oregon State Beavers. Cal’s super start QB Jared Goff has moved onto the NFL but his replacement, Texas Tech transfer Davis Webb has filled in admirably and their offense is averaging 44.0 points per game on the road while allowing 42.3 in three road contests.
Oregon State , (1–3,) are averaging 30.5 at home while their defense is allowing an average of 22.5 PPG. In their most recent home start the Beavers allowed Boise State to score 38 points and the Broncos do not have as potent an offense as the Bears bring to the playing field. Cal runs a hurry up offense and they ran 119 plays on offense at San Diego State, (which possesses a far better defense than Oregon State does.) In that Aztec shootout the Bears lost 45–40 with the game sailing well over the total. On September 26 at Arizona State, (a 51–41 loss,) Cal ran 106 plays on offense and that contest also sailed over the closing total of 85.5 points. The Golden Bears are indeed golden for over backs as they sit at 4 – 1 to the over in their first five games as their defense cannot stop anybody as their “D” is perpetually getting “lit up!”
In Review
My Every Edge College record after 5 weeks is 3–2 ATS.
Moving On Up!
- Last year these two teams combined for 78 points at Cal.
- In 2014 the two foes combined for 76 points at Oregon State.
- All three Cal road games have sailed over the total while the Beavers are 1 – 1 to the over at home.
