Lebron James and the Cavs rebounded, while the Bulls played their worst game of the 2016 playoffs in Game 2. The result is what you’d expect. The series is now all tied up.
Now we look ahead to Friday night – Cavaliers vs. Bulls Game 3 Pick
Over to you Derrick Rose. After a subpar performance in the opener, Lebron looked the part of the best player in the world Wednesday night. Right from the opening tip-off it was clear James was going to play with an energy and focus that would create problems for the Bulls.
Chicago will need Rose to show more than just flashes of that former MVP game of his, but Jimmy Butler could be the real key.
Recently named the league’s Most Improved Player, Butler needs to contribute at the offensive end, but that could prove difficult to do with consistency. That’s because of defensive responsibilities covering Lebron. I see James wearing him out, which will impact his ability to chip in much-needed points.
A part of Cleveland’s formula for that game 2 win was to come at the Bulls with high energy and attack the hoop. And when they went to the hoop and missed, power forward Tristan Thompson was all over the boards, pulling down six offensive rebounds (and 12 in total). He should be a thorn in Chicago’s side again Friday night.
Cavaliers vs. Bulls Game 3 Pick
I’m looking forward to watching this one. It should be a battle, but I’m going to side with the road underdog and play the Cavaliers to take a one game lead in the series.
