The frantic pace of top flight football in England continues unabated this week as there are five EPL matches playing this Tuesday night and a further five on Wednesday night. There are massive games at the bottom of the league in the opening night of Premier League action, but the one game that will catch the attention of everyone sees Leicester take on West Brom at The King Power Stadium. Can The Foxes take all three points once again to strengthen their title credentials going into the final ten games of the season?
We preview all five games with online sportsbook 10Bet.com to provide our top Tuesday night EPL picks.
Leicester v West Brom: 1.60 – 3.85 – 6.25
The first meeting of these two sides this season saw a thriller at The Hawthorns as the home side took the lead, but Leicester’s two star men in Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy scored three goals in 20 minutes half way through the second half to lead 3-1 before a late Baggies penalty saw a tense finish to the match. The Foxes were not at their best at home to Norwich on Saturday but, just like many champions down the years, they still managed to claim all three points despite this as Leonardo Ulloa netted an 89th minute winner to leave The Canaries in big trouble at the foot of the league. However, they extended their lead at the top of the EPL to five points (before Tottenham returned it two points by beating Swansea on Sunday) and will be confident for this Tuesday night game. Can they win their 17th match of the season?
Just like the first meeting of these two sides this season West Brom will not make this an easy game for the home as they come into this match having beaten Everton away and Crystal Palace at home in their last two games. They were particularly impressive in the first 45 minutes against Palace on Saturday evening, but with Leicester having recorded three successive EPL wins on home soil without conceding a goal and West Brom having failed to score in three of their last five away league matches we agree with 10Bet and see the home side winning this one.
Our best Leicester v West Brom bet is back the home win at odds of 1.60 in the 10Bet Sportsbook!
Aston Villa v Everton: 5.05 – 3.65 – 1.74
Another defeat at the weekend sees Aston Villa mired deeply in relegation trouble and it may now be time to cut their losses and begin focussing on playing in the Championship next season. Villa are now eight points from safety and have to outscore three sides above them by this amount of points in the final 11 games despite having picked up just 16 points from the 27 games played already this season. They face and Everton side that has not played in a week and a half as they secured a place in the FA Cup Quarter Finals at Bournemouth and with them lacking confidence as well as giving away goals due to poor play it is not a surprise to see them as the heavy outsiders at home to one of the top scoring sides in the league.
Villa have won just one of the last ten meetings between these sides and this came on this ground last season as they won 3-2 but with them having managed to score no more than two goals in a match this season (and them achieving this feat just five times in 27 games) they are likely to have to rely on their defence to win this game. Unfortunately for Villa they have one of the worst defences in the league and as Everton are much more rested than them for this game we can only see one outcome.
Our money is on the away win in this Aston Villa v Everton match @ 1.74 at 10Bet.com.
Sunderland v Crystal Palace: 2.50 – 3.25 – 2.95
Assuming results go their way this evening, victory in this match against Crystal Palace could see Sunderland out of the bottom three in the league and give them a massive confidence boost to approach the rest of the season as they aim to remain in the top flight. The sides have been fairly even in their recent clashes with two wins each and a 0-0 draw seeing them slip the results right down the middle, but with Sunderland winning 1-0 at Selhurst Park earlier this season and both teams performing inconsistently this season who’ll take the points this Tuesday evening?
10Bet.com certainly believe that this’ll be a close match and they make the home side the favourites after some encouraging results recently with three wins and two draws in their last eight games they will believe that they can win this match, especially as they’re facing a Crystal Palace side that is struggling at the moment. The Eagles have lost seven and drawn three of their last ten EPL clashes to have seen them going from challenging at the top of the league earlier in the season to just eight points above the drop zone.
Palace’s biggest problem for a long time was their lack of goals but they are now conceding too many instead with 19 conceded in eight league matches, but they are scoring goals too. Sunderland are in the same situation in that they score goals but concede many more and, as a result of this, we are backing goals at the Stadium of Light this Tuesday night.
Our top Sunderland v Crystal Palace tip is back Over 2.20 goals to be scored at odds of 2.20.
Norwich v Chelsea: 5.95 – 3.95 – 1.60
The defending champions come into this clash with relegation threatened Norwich filled with confidence as they have won three of their last four matches in all competitions to see them in the FA Cup Quarter Finals, within touching distance of the top half of the league and still very much in their Champions League tie with PSG after claiming an away goal in Paris. They scored the first goals against Southampton in seven at the weekend and with Norwich having conceded 22 goals in their last eight games they will believe that there is another three point haul available for them this Tuesday.
Norwich have lost seven of these last eight matches and even when they have gotten everything right, as they did against Leicester at the weekend, they cannot buy any luck as the league leader’s 89th minute goal showed. However, with their guests having just one clean sheet in their last seven matches and Norwich having bagged goals in seven of their last eight home games they will be optimistic about their chances at turning around their form against a side that has done just that since Guus Hiddink took charge at Stamford Bridge.
However, we see Chelsea having too much for their hosts and winning this match, as they have done so often under Hiddink recently, but Norwich will not make things easy for them and we see goals in this match too.
We are backing Chelsea to beat Norwich and both teams to score in the match @ 3.35 with 10Bet.com.
Bournemouth v Southampton: 2.85 – 3.25 – 2.60
The final game of the night sees a meeting of two teams that like to play flowing football but, both recently and historically, things have gone the way of The Saints in this south coast clash. Bournemouth are 15th in the league and have not beaten Southampton in 58 years while the away side in this game can move to within a point of a Europa League spot for next season with a win. Southampton won the first match since their clashes in League One during the 2010/11 season 2-0 on home soil earlier this season now can they repeat the feat of five years ago when they completed the double at The Vitality Stadium?
The away side have a doubt over Shane Long for this match and if the Irish striker cannot make the game he will be a big loss having bagged both of the last two goals for Southampton. However, despite conceding two at home at the weekend as they were beaten by Chelsea they have kept six clean sheets in seven games and with Bournemouth having just one goal in three matches before this evening’s match, including drawing 0-0 at Watford at the weekend, the away side will be confident about keeping a clean sheet in this match.
We are confident in Southampton too as the return from injury of Fraser Forester in goal has spurred them up the table and we feel that they will be just too good for The Cherries and the points will travel down the south coast this Tuesday evening following a tight game.
Our best EPL pick from the Bournemouth v Southampton game is back the away win at odds of 2.60 in the 10Bet Sportsbook!
