This Sunday and Monday sees the final three matches from the 32nd round of Premier League football and all of the trio are massively important to both sides in each of the games. All three matches pit sides at the bottom of the table looking to remain in the top flight for another season against sides who are pushing for places in Europe.
Even though you’d expect the sides at the top of the table to triumph easily with so few games remaining the teams at the bottom know that time is running out and they have nothing left to lose so we predict all three games being thrilling, do-or-die clashes. Who’ll take the points though? We preview all three fixtures with online sportsbook Bet365.com to bring you our biggest and best EPL picks.
Sunderland v Man United: 10.00 – 5.25 – 1.36
The Black Cats welcome Jose Mourinho and Manchester United, who Sunderland boss David Moyes managed for a while, to The Stadium of Light sitting rock bottom of the Premier League and desperate to collect all three points. The home side start this weekend a massive ten points from safety and they know that they must start winning matches if they are to pull off another remarkable end of season turnaround that will see them remain in the top flight for a tenth consecutive season, but can they start this Sunday’s EPL action with a shock of massive proportions?
The problem for David Moyes’ side is that they concede too many goals and their last six matches in the league have seen them score no goals and they have lost five and drawn one match during this run. They have no goals in four matches and almost three months in front of their own fans and their guests this Sunday having won six and drawn two of their last eight on the road in the Premier League we are siding with Bet365 and their match odds by seeing this one being a straightforward victory for the team starting the weekend six points from third in the league with two games in hand.
We are backing Manchester United to beat Sunderland to nil @ 2.05 with Bet365.
Everton v Leicester: 1.75 – 3.90 – 5.00
Despite being the favourites to triumph against the defending Premier League champions, Everton do not have the best of records against Leicester. Their 2-0 win at The King Power Stadium earlier this season saw them record their first win in seven against The Foxes, but they could not grow that as less than two weeks later they were eliminated from the FA Cup at home to their guests this Sunday afternoon. With Leicester having replaced their manager and discovered their ability to play again in the last few weeks that has seen them secure a place in the Champions League last eight stage and record six straight wins to move from the relegation zone to mid-table in the EPL this could be an even tougher clash for the home side.
However, since losing that FA Cup tie at the start of January Everton have been in imperious form at Goodison Park with five wins in five matches and they have scored a massive 19 goals too. This, coupled with the fact that they have lost just one home match in the league this season, will see Everton confident of victory in this weekend clash, but with six wins in a row – although five of those have come on home soil – the away team will fancy their chances at victory too.
We believe that this match could see either of the sides take the points due to their home and current forms respectively, but with both sides scoring well right now and five of the last six meetings seeing at least three goals we see the best value on this match being on the goals market and this is where we are betting.
Our money is on Over 2.5 goals to be scored in this Everton v Leicester match at odds of 1.80 in the Bet365 Sportsbook!
Crystal Palace v Arsenal: 4.50 – 3.90 – 1.83
The final match of the weekend plays at Selhurst Park as Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace side welcome Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in this south versus north capital city derby match. Both sides need the point as The Eagles begin the weekend sitting two places and three points above the relegation zone despite winning four of their last five matches while The Gunners are six points behind Liverpool in third place and despite having two games in hand their campaign to make the top four places and the Champions League is stuttering lately.
Despite taking the lead at Southampton during the week, Palace had an excellent run ended with two late goals as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat, but they will still be encouraged by their performance as they have beaten Middlesbrough, West Brom, Watford and league leaders Chelsea before this loss despite a long list of injuries for the team. They have won both of their last two home matches having addressed their lack of goals and with Arsenal having beaten only non-league Sutton on their travels since the end of January they will believe that they can upset the odds on home soil during this week’s Monday Night Football.
We feel that they stand their best chance of beating Arsenal in this match since their last victory over The Gunners in 1994 and with Bet365.com seeing goals in this game we see the best value being on the home side to get something from the clash.
