2 games of local interest tonight.
ISU Pk @ Drake. Over the last 3 yrs. Drake has gotten the better of ISU, however the only returning player from those teams is Sr. guard Josh Young, and he is ?'able w/ a hip pointer. He sat out Drake's opening game loss to UIPUI. Drake has 9 freshman on the roster, but running and gunning is their M/O, and w/out their best shooter @ 100%. I see Drake having trouble stopping ISU. Clones are lead by likely lottery pick Craig Brackins. Big power forward who should have his way inside tonight. ISU has brought in a couple of very athletic JC players and have sharpshooter Lucca Steiger to breakdown Drake's matchup zone. ISU will not hesitate to run, IF given the opportunity. ISU wins this game w/ points in the paint.
ISU 82 Drake 76

Iowa +1- v Duquesne. Dukes come into IC off a nice win over Nicols St. however the win was costly, as leading scorer Boldin suffered a fractured wrist. However Duq, is very experienced, won 21 games last season beat Xavier, and the Carver Hawkeye fatihful will be 1/2 full @ best. Iowa is starting 2 sophs, 2 frosh and a JR. Iowa was 5-27 shooting the 3 against UTSA in losing its home opener for the 1st time in 45 yrs!! Iowa is so dependent on the 3 that in order to win they basically need to hold the opponent under 60 and hit 40% of their 3's. Duquesne shoudl own the paint, and pressure Frosh PG Cully Paine into some easy to's and points. Iowa will try hard, and will be better than they were Sun. but Duquesne is that much better than UTSA and should come away w/ the W. Duquesne 65 Iowa 58

GL, I like Duquesne to win that one too. It should be an interesting contrast of styles. Surely, Iowa will score more than 50 tonight. At least, the Hawkeyes rebounded well in that game.
