Gunners & Giroud a Good Bet Sunday? EPL Picks

EPL Picks

This Sunday sees three matches from week 16 of the EPL and each of these trio of games sees a clash of sides looking good in the top half of the table against sides struggling in the bottom half. The biggest game of the day sees Aston Villa welcome Arsenal as the side bottom of the table looks to upset the odds against a side that secured their passage to the knockout stage of the Champions League in the week and can go top of the league.

Tottenham v Newcastle and Liverpool v West Brom also offer plenty of thrills and excitement and we’re taking a look at all three games with Unibet.com to provide our best  EPL picks from this Sunday’s matches.

Aston Villa v Arsenal: 6.25 – 4.20 – 1.58

After losing both of their opening Champions League matches and looking like they were on their way out of that competition earlier this season, the fact that they managed to secure three wins in their final four games to secure passage to the last 16 stage of Europe’s premier competition with Oliver Giroud netting a hat-trick in Greece this week will give Arsenal a massive boost in confidence coming into this game. They are likely to need it too as they are missing several key players, including Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Tomas Rosicky, but as none of these played in midweek Arsenal will believe that they can win this match and move top of the EPL.

They have won all of the last four meetings with Aston Villa, including recording a 4-0 victory in the FA Cup Final last season, and have not been defeated at Villa Park since 1998. Villa have received some boosts for this match as Jack Grealish and manager Remi Garde, who used to play for Arsenal, have buried the hatchet over the midfielders off field behaviour as he is recalled to the first team squad while Leandro Bacuna and Rudy Gestede are both fit despite picking up knocks last weekend.

However, despite this good news for the home side we feel that The Gunners are too good for the lowly Midlanders and hat-trick hero during the week, Oliver Giroud, will fire them to the top of the Premier League this weekend.

Our best Aston Villa v Arsenal bet is back Arsenal to win and Giroud to score @ 2.55 with Unibet.com.

Tottenham v Newcastle: 1.38 – 5.25 – 8.75

The home side come into this White Hart Lane clash unbeaten in nine matches in all competitions and having remained unbeaten since an opening day loss to Manchester United so they will approach this match full of confidence as they face a side deep in a relegation battle. Tottenham have won five and drawn two of their last seven home games in all competitions since losing 2-1 to Arsenal in the League Cup in September and they have beaten Man City, West Ham and Monaco 4-1 during this run. With them facing a Newcastle side that has five defeats in seven on the road, collecting just four points this season on their travels, we can see why the home team are so heavily favoured to win.

Newcastle will be boosted by their performance last weekend as they upset the odds to defeat Liverpool at St. James’ Park and with back to back wins at White Hart Lane in the Premier League to their name before this Sunday’s match they will be quietly confident as they prepare to take on a side that can move to within touching distance of the top four with a win today. We see them doing so and remaining unbeaten and we can see their key striker, Harry Kane, leading the line in front of the Tottenham faithful.

We are backing Tottenham to beat Newcastle and Harry Kane to score anytime at odds of 2.14.

Liverpool v West Brom: 1.42 – 4.60 – 9.25

Unibet believe that this match between Jurgen Klopp’s expansive Liverpool side and Tony Pulis’ defensive Baggies will go the same way as the other 4pm kick off this Sunday and see a comfortable home win. However, these two sides come into this match just three places and four points apart with Liverpool just in the top half of the table in tenth while they have won just one of the last three meetings between the two sides. This game could certainly be closer than the odds suggest, especially as Daniel Sturridge is injured again only after returning from injury and they have failed to score in either of their last two matches over the last seven days. Can West Brom upset the odds?

Tony Pulis’ men come into this game unbeaten in three matches having beaten Arsenal 2-1 at The Hawthorns before drawing 1-1 away at West Ham and home to Tottenham, so they will not be easily defeated by the home side this Sunday evening. They have only lost to Crystal Palace and Man United on the road this season and have four clean sheets, with just five goals conceded, in seven road trips and with Liverpool conceding in five of their last six EPL home games we can see this game going either way. However, it will be an exciting match and we see goals in this one.

Our money is on both teams to score in this Liverpool v West Brom game @ 2.25 in the Unibet Sportsbook!
