Pittsburgh Steelers vs. San Diego Chargers Pick

The Steelers travel to the West Coast, a place they haven’t won since Terry Bradshaw was behind center (slight exaggeration, but you get the point).

Let’s have a look at this Pittsburgh Steelers vs. San Diego Chargers Monday night matchup:

It’s been a long time since the Steelers have won on the West Coast – can they change that Monday night?

Pittsburgh have had a few extra days to prepare for this one, off that rough loss on Thursday night vs. Baltimore. Backup QB Mike Vick wasn’t bad in that one, kicker Josh Scobee was. Vick made the trip west, Scobee didn’t. He’s gone after missing those two FGs in the final minutes, dropping Pittsburgh to 2-2.

Vick gave them a chance. He protected the ball and managed the game. With a long week of first team reps, I expect O-coordinator Todd Haley will open up more of the playbook and Vick should have a bigger impact.

The Chargers are also sitting at 2-2. But even the wins have been pedestrian. You catch that 3-point win over the Browns last week. Zero to get excited about. Their D was beat up by Josh McCown, who racked up 356 yards through the air.

The Steeler offense, led by Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, should have a good night. This is a bad defense. Add in San Diego’s issues along the O-line and I don’t like the matchup for the home team. And getting more than a field goal, the Steelers look good.

I’ll take the Steelers +3.5 for a unit.
