Champions League Picks: Who’ll Score Enough Goals to Reach the Final Four this Tuesday?

By Antony Jordan

The second leg matches from the Champions League Quarter Finals kick off this Tuesday evening where we’ll find out the first pair of sides in the last four stage. We have two closely contested battles that see the two sides from the Spanish capital in Real and Atlético hold slender one goal advantages over Bayern Munich and Leicester City, but it could all change. Will both, one or neither of the Spaniards find their way to the Semi Finals?

We preview both of these games with online sportsbook Bet365.com to provide an overview of the matches this Tuesday night along with our best Champions League picks!

Real Madrid v Bayern Munich: 2.37 – 3.80 – 2.90

The first leg of this Quarter Final tie was a closely fought affair that saw the sides level at 1-1 before Javi Martinez saw red for the German side and Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a second goal to give Real Madrid the advantage at the halfway point of the tie. Even though they are a goal up on the Germans and have two away goals to their name, the tie is far from over and this match could easily swing back the other way. The odds from Bet365 again suggest a close match between these two sides as they do battle at the Bernabeu, but which of them will triumph and progress?

The home team certainly have history behind them with regards to home matches against Bayern as they have won five in a row against the German giants, but after winning 2-0 in 2002 the last four victories have seen them win by just one goal. This historical record matches the first leg of this tie and with the recent form for these two sides. Real are unbeaten in eight in all competitions on home soil, winning six and drawing two, while Bayern have lost one and drawn one of their last two away games, scoring no goals in these clashes.

However, form means very little at this highest level and we see this game being a mirror image of the first leg. Both sides will set out to score goals as the Spaniards have a questionable defence that has seen them fail to keep a clean sheet at home in the Champions League this season against a team that needs to score to progress. As a result of this, we feel that there will be goals in the Spanish capital and we are backing the ball to find its way into the net on at least four occasions this Tuesday evening.

Our best Real Madrid v Bayern Munich bet is back Over 3.5 goals @ 2.00 in the Bet365 Sportsbook!

Leicester v Atlético Madrid: 3.80 – 3.50 – 2.10

The second leg of this last eight stage match sees just the second ever meeting of Leicester City and Atlético Madrid with their tie finely poised following the Spanish side’s 1-0 home victory last week. The home team dominated in the Spanish capital with far more possession and chances, but the EPL side hung in there and were only beaten by a penalty netted in the 28th minute so this defensive performance, coupled with their own excellent form at The King Power Stadium, will see them believing that they can make the Semi Final stage of their debut Champions League.

The Foxes came back from a goal down against Spanish opposition in the last round as they returned from Sevilla trailing 2-1 before winning 2-0 at home to secure passage to this last eight stage tie. They have won all of their last six on home soil, including defeating Liverpool as well as Sevilla, netting 15 goals in the process. They will find it tough against an Atlético side that has not lost an away match in 2017 but we feel that Leicester are sure to give it all they’ve got to upset the odds and the football world at large once again and we’re backing them push the Spanish side all the way this Tuesday evening.

Our money is on Leicester/Draw Double Chance v Atlético Madrid at odds of 1.75 with Bet365.com.
