EPL Picks: Man United need the points to keep pace

EPL Sunday Picks

The final pair of EPL matches from round of four of the 2015/16 season play this Sunday as the league closes up for two weeks thanks to the Euro 2016 qualifiers playing next weekend. We’re treated to two fantastic matches as Southampton look to claim their first win against the free scoring Norwich while the final game of the weekend sees high fliers Swansea and Manchester United battle, with the Welsh side out for a third straight win.

Southampton v Norwich: 1.95 – 3.40 – 4.00

Last season saw these sides finish seventh in the Premier League and third in the Championship, but the start of the 2015/16 sees the newly promoted side visit St. Mary’s eight places and two points better off than their hosts. Southampton have not started the season well as they have been eliminated from Europe as they were beaten 2-1 on aggregate by Danish side Midtjylland in the Europa League Play Off round and their domestic campaign has seen them draw away at Newcastle and Watford while suffering a heavy defeat at home to Everton.

Norwich have been very impressive on their return to the top flight after a season away as they pushed Crystal Palace all the way on the opening weekend – and should have gotten something from the game having had a goal wrongly ruled out at 2-1 down – before winning 3-1 away at Sunderland then drawing 1-1 with Stoke. They defeated Championship side Rotherham 2-1 in the Capital One Cup last week too and they are looking good to remain in the league should they continue this form throughout the season.

The away side are missing Martin Olsson, Youssouf Mulumbu and Kyle Lafferty through injury as well as Lewis Grabban who received an internal suspension from the club after walking out before the Capital One Cup match last week. With The Saints welcoming Victor Wanyama and Sadio Mane back from injury for this match 10bet clearly believe that we’ll see a home win in this match and this pair of players will certainly boost their chances. However, Norwich are playing with a confidence right now and we feel that this game will be closer than the odds suggest while being a chance and goal filled game. As such, our money is on goals in this match and we’re backing at least one goal from both teams at odds of 1.90 with 10bet.com.

Swansea v Man United: 3.30 – 3.30 – 2.20

Despite sitting two points behind their guests at the Liberty Stadium this Sunday afternoon the Welsh side will be confident about welcoming the 20 time top flight champions to their home after winning both meetings last season 2-1 as they recorded their best ever Premier League finish. They have started this season well too with draws away at Chelsea and Sunderland as well as beating Newcastle and York at the Liberty Stadium in the league and cup respectively. They are scoring goals and with Ki Sung-yeung having played 81 minutes in the cup during the week the only selection issues that Garry Monk has are where to fit all of his available players.

United come back to the league after becoming just the second English side to defeat Club Brugge on home soil after a resounding 4-0 win in Belgium to secure their place in the Champions League group stages. They have conceded just a single goal in five matches this season and despite bagging seven goals against Brugge they have just two goals in three EPL games, one of which was an own goal.

Despite this lack of goals United do have Marouane Fellaini back from suspension and the Belgian midfielder is more than capable of finding the net, and with five of the last six meetings between these teams seeing goals we are confident of this pattern continuing this Sunday afternoon. Back both teams to score @ 1.90 in the 10bet Sportsbook.
