EPL Picks: Which of the January signings will shine in the Premier League tonight?

EPL Picks

The January transfer window has slammed shut and the sides in the Premier League have their squads set for the final four months of the season as they aim to take the title or stay in the top flight. There are eight matches playing this Tuesday night and we preview all of these games with online sportsbook Unibet.com to bring you our best EPL picks.

Arsenal v Southampton: 1.82 – 3.55 – 4.75

These two sides meet for the first time since Southampton upset the odds to crush The Gunners 4-0 on Boxing Day at St. Mary’s and although they lost three successive matches in the league and cup following that festive triumph The Saints come into this game in a much stronger place. They have won all of their last three games and are up to eighth place in the table. They have not conceded a goal in three matches and following their exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Crystal Palace they have not played in ten days so they’ll certainly be the fresher of the two sides for this game.

Arsenal are boosted by the fact that Alexis Sanchez is likely to make his league return after a two month hamstring injury layoff and they will hope that the return of the Chilean will see a return to the form that saw them top of the league at the start of January. They have drawn with Liverpool and Stoke as well as losing to Chelsea in their last three EPL games and have no goals in either of the two of these final games. They have not bolstered their attacking options during the transfer window and are now three points behind Leicester at the top of the table, so they could find it difficult against the fresher Southampton team. As a result of this we are backing the away side to bring at least a point back to the South coast from North London.

Our best Arsenal v Southampton bet is back Southampton/Draw Double Chance @ 2.08 with Unibet.com.

Leicester v Liverpool: 2.62 – 3.30 – 2.80

The home side at the King Power Stadium for this match hold a three point advantage at the top of the EPL table and, just like Southampton, with them exiting the FA Cup in the third round they will be the fresher of these two teams following Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with West Ham at the weekend. They have gone seven EPL matches unbeaten at home and have not conceded a goal in the last three games in front of their own fans so they’ll be full of confidence for this match, but after suffering just their second defeat of the season to Liverpool at Anfield at the end of December can they edge a match that Unibet see as a marginal game?

Since Leicester last played a match on January 23rd their guests in the Midlands have played two games as they needed penalties to make the Capital One Cup Final against Stoke and then played out a draw in the FA Cup with West Ham this weekend. Even with Jurgen Klopp having rested players for these games a number of the starting XI the constant pace of matches will affect Liverpool for this game and with them having defeated only Norwich in a nine goal thriller since the start of the year in the league while losing three of their last five away EPL games over the last two months we feel that The Reds will struggle in this fixture.

Our money is on Leicester to beat Liverpool at odds of 2.62 in the Unibet Sportsbook!

Norwich v Tottenham: 4.35 – 3.65 – 1.86

Both of these sides will see this Carrow Road based clash as a must win game as Norwich have lost all of their last four matches and as they sit just two points above the big spending Newcastle on the fringes of the relegation zone. Tottenham are just two points behind their local rivals Arsenal and Man City in second and third place in the league while being just five points off the top of the league. They have won all of their last four matches and sit top of the form table coming into this match, so they will certainly believe that they can win this match, but with Norwich hanging on for dear life near the foot of the table will the away side be able to claim all three points this midweek night?

Norwich have splashed the cash in January and with Steven Naismith scoring on his debut for the club in the heart breaking 5-4 loss to Liverpool as well as Patrick Bamford joining to boost their attack they will believe that they can get something from this game. However, Tottenham are playing well right now and they eased passed The Canaries 3-0 after Christmas and we feel that they are deserving of being the big favourites to win this game. We actually believe that they are overpriced and we’re backing them to take all three points back to North London.

Our top Norwich v Tottenham tip is back the away win @ 1.86 at Unibet.

Sunderland v Man City: 7.25 – 4.50 – 1.48

Even though the away side at The Stadium of Light this Tuesday night have a lengthy injury list comprising of Kevin de Bruyne, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala, Wilfried Bony and Samir Nasri to leave them short in some vital positions across the pitch they are still the massive favourites to win this game against the relegation threatened side. City have already beaten Sunderland twice this season with them recording 4-1 wins in the league and Capital One Cup to see them having won five and drawn one of their last six meetings.

In Sergio Aguero, who has scored four goals in his last two EPL matches, they have the most talented striker in the league and even though Sunderland have brought in a number of signings this January to fill important positions we cannot see them stopping the firepower of the Argentine striker.

We are backing Man City to beat Sunderland and Sergio Aguero to score at odds of 2.25.

West Ham v Aston Villa: 1.80 – 3.60 – 4.80

West Ham to win this match against bottom of the league Aston Villa could very well be the pick of the night as the Midlanders come into this game having signed zero players during the January transfer window to leave them with a playing squad that has seen them collect 13 points from 23 games this season. Strikers Rudy Gestede and Libor Kozak as well as defenders Adama Traore, Jordan Amavi and Alan Hutton all out injured, while midfielders Carlos Sanchez and Ashley Westwood are both doubtful for the game.

With West Ham having gone ten games unbeaten on home soil, including winning three of the last four matches, so with the low morale of no additions coupled with a insurmountable injury crisis we are backing the home win at Upton Park.

Our best West Ham v Aston Villa bet is back the home win @ 1.80 with Unibet.com.

Crystal Palace v Bournemouth: 2.40 – 3.20 – 3.20

The home side are favoured to win this match despite their recent goal scoring troubles as they have scored just one goal in their last six EPL games – and that was an own goal as they took the lead against Tottenham. They ultimately fell to a 3-1 defeat in that game, but with Crystal Palace having signed former Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a short term contract until the end of the season they may actually have a player capable of converting chances.

Adebayor is likely to start this game and will certainly offer something different up front for The Eagles and with just one clean sheet in their last five matches, and just three in 17 on the road in all competitions this season, this leads us to believe that the Togolese striker could end the goal drought for the home side. Bournemouth have scored in each of their last five games and with them adding extra firepower in this transfer window we can see goals in this match.

We are backing Both Teams to Score – Yes at odds of 1.86 in the Unibet Sportsbook!

Man United v Stoke: 1.70 – 3.65 – 5.65

These two sides come into this match sitting fifth and ninth in the league separated by just four points and although the 20 time top flight champions are the odds-on favourites to win this match it will be the away side that will feel that they can claim all three points in this match. Manchester United have been in poor form on home soil this season, with a lack of goals being the biggest problem. Their last 11 home games have seen just a single goal in the first half of games and they have scored a total of just four goals in their last seven at Old Trafford.

Stoke have a tight defence and have kept five clean sheets in their last nine away EPL matches and Manchester United will find it difficult to score in this match despite the fact that Stoke have conceded eight goals in their last three games on the road. Six of those goals came against two of the highest scorers in the league in Everton and Leicester while many of their other defeats and conceded goals this season have come when they have had a player red carded. With Stoke having scored zero or one goals in ten of their last 11 away EPL games coupled with the poor goal scoring record at Old Trafford this season we see few goals coming in this match.

Our top Man United v Stoke tip is back Under 2.5 goals to be scored @ 1.65 at Unibet.

West Brom v Swansea: 2.57 – 3.10 – 3.05

The final match from Tuesday’s action comes from The Hawthorns where West Brom take on Swansea looking to notch a fourth straight home win in a row from matches involving these two sides. The Baggies won 2-0 here last season with Swansea winning 3-0 and 1-0 last season and this season either side of that win. Saido Berahino claimed the second goal in the win last season and he has been the main taking point around these parts with bids of more than Β£20m coming in for the England striker but the club refused to sell despite manager Tony Pulis having rarely played the forward in recent months.

However, with the attacking player having scored two goals in the FA Cup game at home to Peterborough at the weekend he will certainly be in with a chance of starting this match. The Baggies have lost just one of their last six home league games and will fancy their chances against an improving Swansea side that is looking to get themselves out of the bottom three in the league, but are short on attacking options. Swansea have kept just one clean sheet this season and we cannot see them getting a second against a confident West Brom team and we’re backing the man of the moment to bag at least one in this match.

Our money is on Saido Berahino to score anytime in this West Brom v Swansea game at odds of 3.65.

EPL Picks:

We have picked our three best EPL picks from the eight games playing this Tuesday night and this trio are our guaranteed bets for the night.

  • Man City to beat Sunderland and Aguero to score @ 2.25 – Sunderland are in a relegation scrap and while they have added players they are not good enough to defeat Man City and with Aguero now right on form again he’ll find the net in this match to see his side win.
  • Tottenham to beat Norwich @ 1.86 – Tottenham are in excellent form right now and are within touching distance of the top of the league, so when they face a Norwich side that leaks too many goals they will be able to take all three points to keep the pressure on the sides above them.
  • West Ham to beat Aston Villa @ 1.80 – Villa have not made any signings and have a massive injury crisis for this game. West Ham to beat them at home is the pick of the day.
