WEEK 6 TRENDS By Pick Sixty Spots

Here is a look at some of early Week 6 NFL odds with trends that are helping shape the line.

WEEK 6 TREND SETTER

We’ll start in Foxboro where the New England Patriots return home triumphant from a victory over the mighty Cleveland Browns. Tom Brady was 28 of 40 in Sunday’s 33-13 win, hitting three TDs and over 400 yards passing. He looks to have secured the starting job for now and rumours have already surfaced over how many times Tony Romo may have texted Brady since, asking for advice.

Cincinnati is in the crosshairs at New England this week and if you’re thinking of backing the Bengals, there’s no rush. Odds opened at Pats -8 and are now scattered between -9 and -10.5 with various online sportsbooks.

Let’s hope for Cinci’s sake that they were ‘saving it’ for this conference game, as it took them almost 50 minutes to score in the 28-14 Week 5 loss to Dallas. Conference road dogs off a non-conference road loss are 36-22 ATS (62-percent) when they trailed by double-digits through three quarters of the previous matchup. Bigger dogs, between +7 and +17 points, are 19-9 ATS (68-percent). Like I said, no rush.

In divisional play, the Philadelphia Eagles are 2-point road faves at Washington with Over/Under odds of 45. Carson Wentz had his team in fine position to win at Detroit Sunday, but RB Ryan Mathews was apparently not part of the discussion. A critical fourth quarter fumble cost the Eagles and now off a loss, they look to rebound in their first divisional game of the season.

Philly has been a great divisional road team the past 10 years, going 21-9 SU/ATS (69-percent). It ties them for second-best in the NFL over that span, trailing only the Oakland Raiders (22-8 ATS). When the line was less than +/-3 points either way, Philly was 7-0 SU/ATS in this situation but if forced to lay -3 or more, the Eagles went 3-6 ATS.

Sportsline’s Computer is 46-30 SU and 41-34-1 ATS this year.

Peculiar Pick for Week 6? The Computer is backing the Bengals (Bungles of late) +9 on the road vs the Patriots. Tom Brady at home for the first time since the suspension, he will be amongst his flock and will put on sermon like no other.
