Sportsbook Report: Thunder vs. Heat, Miami a 3.5-point favorite

  • by

NBA odds for Game 4 opened with the Miami Heat as a home favorite but losing three in a row – even without the points – does not fit the Oklahoma City Thunder’s profile

The Over/Under for Game 4 of this series is the lowest for Oklahoma City since Round 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers

Oklahoma City came into this series riding a four-game SU/ATS win streak and game 1 played started slow, but a 31-point fourth quarter made the Thunder look like the complete package. It was their ninth consecutive win on home court and the pressure was on Miami to salvage a split before taking things back to south beach for game’s 3, 4 and 5.

But momentum is a funny thing in NBA playoff betting, and now with the Heat leading 2-1 after Sunday’s 91-85 victory, online sportsbooks have completely reversed the tide, making Miami a -180 money line favorite to finally win an NBA championship title.

The Thunder’s offensive efficiency has slipped the past two games and shooting is down nine-percent from Round 3 but they are still 11-6-1 ATS in the playoffs including a 5-2-1 ATS mark away from Chesapeake Energy Center.

The total is at 192 and that’s the lowest for the Thunder since May 21 against the Lakers. Oklahoma City’s has 5 overs and 2 unders its past seven road games but their first-half scoring (45.3 PPG) is well below their season average of 52.7 and Miami, meanwhile, has upped the ante two points to 52.0 first-half points per game in this series.
