Monday’s NHL betting lineup starts off the week with four interesting matchups and we set up the card with three plays

Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle has three assists in three games vs. Edmonton this season

CANADIENS vs. SABRES

Montreal is in Buffalo off a 4-1 win at Vancouver that ended a three-game trip to the Northwest and they catch a Sabres team that’s played seven of its past eight on the road.

Buffalo went 4-2-1 in those road games but scored two goals or less five times. The Sabres sandwiched a 3-2 overtime win against Carolina into the mix last Wednesday, the club’s only home win in March, but two wins before that were 2-1 over Boston (shootout) and 2-1 vs. the Islanders Feb. 21.

The Sabres are 10-5-4 vs. the Sabres and have the edge in goaltender matchups with Ryan Miller facing Peter Budaj, but with a total of 5 Over (-127), we side with the under.

Pick: Take the Under

DUCKS vs. AVALANCHE

Two teams on the outside of the Western Conference playoff bubble meet and NHL odds favor Colorado (-119, 5 Over -122). Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller leads the league with 63 appearances this season and he’s 7-4 all-time vs. a Colorado team that has relied on big contributions from Ryan O’Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog (Check status) to make up for injuries to their veterans.

Semyon Varlamov has allowed just 10 goals in his past six starts and the Ducks have put up decent numbers in the Mile High City, going 6-1 their past seven visits, but those wins seem like distant memories for a Ducks team ranked 28th in road scoring (1.97 GPG).

Pick: Take the Under

SHARKS vs. OILERS

The San Jose Sharks are -137 favorites in Edmonton and that’s a lot of credit for a road team that is 2-8-3 in the past month, but San Jose has a score to settle with the Oilers after losing 3-2 in a shootout last Tuesday. We lean to San Jose getting it done at Rexall Place but value shoppers may want to consider the total which is priced at 5.5 Under (-116).

Devin Dubnyk makes his return for Edmonton after a brief absence and he’ll fave Antti Niemi. Dubnyk is 4-2 against the Sharks all-time and 3-0 the past three meetings with a 1.58 goals-against average.

Pick: Take the Under

Betting Tip: The Grand Salami at Pinnacle Sports favors the home teams minus a half-goal at -102 and the total is 21.5 Over (-104). For online hockey betting action on every game without taxing your bankroll, consider the Grand Salami and get in the game
