Baseball Picks: Indians at Rangers

The Cleveland Indians have hit a rough patch and roll into Texas Monday searching for end to their season-worst seven-game losing streak

The Indians were swept in Detroit but tonight in Texas they get a chance to let loose vs. Josh Lindblom

Texas was able to salvage a win against Toronto Sunday after dropping the first two games of that series but the Rangers are 18-8 at home where they are scoring 5.04 runs per game (RPG), sixth best in the majors. Josh Lindblom (0-1, 7.71) gets the call for Texas and current MLB odds online offer the Rangers at -148 with a total of 10.5 Over (-113).

Lindblom is filling in for Alexi Ogando and just two Indians, Michael Bourn (2 for 2) and Drew Stubbs (0 for 6), have ever faced the righty. Scott Kazmir (3-3, 5.24 ERA) will start for the Tribe and there are a handful of Rangers licking their chops at the opportunity to knock Kazmir around including Nelson Cruz (5 for 17) and Elvis Andrus (6 for 16).

Kazmir has been a nice contributor for the Indians this year but he is just 0-3 on the road with a morbid 6.66 ERA and Texas has blasted off on some of the lefties they’ve hosted, going 73-45 with 5.4 RPG since 2009.

Even against an inexperienced starter such as Lindblom, we can’t trust Cleveland to end this losing streak tonight but coming off a divisional game where they were held to one run or less the Indians have played 19 overs to just 6 unders since 2011, clearing the total by an average of three runs per contest.

For Monday’s play we like the Indians and Rangers “Over” 10.5 runs
