I am not a fan of laying large wood but on rare occasions I will lay the lumber and hope to go to slumber with an easy win! Tonight is one of those evenings when I am chopping a lot of wood by backing the Arizona Wildcats when they host the Stanford Cardinal in this 11:00 ET tip.
The Wildcats were just taken out to the woodshed by the Oregon Ducks, (85–58,) as 4 point road dogs. Every Edge Sam posted my selection on the Ducks in that game here at Every Edge.
What’s wrong with Stanford?
- Stanford returned four starters this season but the team hasn’t jelled under new head coach Jerod Haase as the Cardinal have a record of 12–11 while falling below .500 on the road at 4–7 straight up, (5–6 ATS.) These two rivals met in Stanford on New Year’s Day and the Wildcats, laying 6.5 points, crushed Stanford 91–52. Yes Stanford is playing with revenge but I note the Wildcats are coming off their worst loss in eight seasons with that debacle at Oregon last Saturday.
- The Cardinal has lost their last five straight up and ATS vs. the Wildcats, (91–52,) (94–62,) (71–57) (91–69) and (89–82.)
- Stanford is 03–12 ATS as a road underdog or pick over the last 2 seasons and 09–20 ATS when away from home the past three seasons.
- The Cardinal is 33-53 ATS and -25.30-units when revenging a loss where an opponent scored 75 or more points.
- Stanford is 05–13 ATS after one or more consecutive overs.
Wild about the Cats!
- Arizona is 70–45 ATS after playing a game as an underdog.
- The Wildcats are 17–06 ATS after having won four or five of their last six games.
- Arizona is 26–10 ATS in home games after a game giving up 5 or less offensive rebounds winning by an average score of 18.1 points per game.
- The Wildcats are 12–0 straight up at home winning by an average of 17.2 PPG.
