NBA Picks – Miami Heat at Orlando Magic

  • by

LeBron James and the Heat hit the road to Orlando for their third meeting this season with Dwight Howard and the Magic

The Magic are just 3-7 ATS against the division this season and 30-44 ATS the past three years when avenging a loss

Miami is coming off a three-game homestand where they went 3-0 straight-up but the only cover was 108-78 win seven days ago vs. New Jersey. Pointspreads for those matchups ranged between -9.5 and -13.5 points but NBA odds for tonight’s game were trimmed to Heat -4.5 with a total of 189.5.

The Magic is coming off a double-digit win over Indiana on Sunday and have an 11-9 ATS record with a day of rest but James and the Heat post a 4-2 ATS record with two-plus days of rest, outscoring opponents 107-95.7, or 11.3 points per game.

Dwyane Wade had a game-high 27 points in Miami’s 90-78 win over Orlando Feb. 19 and James scored 25. It was much more in-line with his 27.7-point season average than the first meeting, where James scored just 17 and the Magic triumphed 102-89. James has hit 23-plus points in seven of eight road games since that loss and we should expect a big night from him tonight.

NBA PICKS

The Heat are getting good contributions from the bench, Orlando’s 43.8 field goal percentage ranks 17th overall and against the Heat, who lead the league in overall (48.5-percent) and road shooting from the floor (47.4-percent), that won’t cut it.

Pick: Take the Heat
