Friday night’s NBA action tips off with the Utah Jazz in Philadelphia and we look at the side and total with an Over/Under system that’s 75-percent the past 15 years
The Jazz have an 8-3 SU/ATS record when visiting Philly since the 2000-01 season
UTAH AT PHILADELPHIA
Line: 76ers -6.5, Over/Under 185.5
Utah is 4-1 SU/ATS in its past five including back-to-back road wins at Cleveland and Charlotte. The Jazz have given up just 95.2 points per game during this run to trim their season average to 97.5 but they still sit 26th overall with 101.2 points allowed on the road.
Philadelphia owns the league’s stingiest defense (87.1) and is coming off a monstrous 103-71 win over Boston but the Sixers have struggled to gain momentum. They are 3-8 SU/ATS in their past 11 games and 0-5 ATS following their past five straight-up wins.
It’s worth noting who Philly has faced during the recent trend: Chicago (33-9), Oklahoma City (31-8), Orlando (26-15), Charlotte (5-32) and the Los Angeles Lakers (23-16)
Those opponents have a combined win percentage of .596 and taking the Bobcats out of the equation spikes the mark to .702 (113-48).
Utah is just 19-19 straight-up and 5-13 on the road and online sportsbooks have taken that into consideration with this line, but the Jazz have had Philly’s number for years. Utah is 15-5-1 ATS in this series the past 21 meetings and 8-3 SU/ATS when visiting Philly since the 2000-01 season.
NBA Picks: We like the value on the Jazz in this spot and here is an NBA betting profile from Greg Dempson Sports that suggests backing the “Over”.
After a blowout win by 20-plus points, play teams that allow an average of 88 points per game or less (76ers) to sail over the total when the O/U is between 180 and 189.5 points, and they are facing a team who allows 92-98 points per game.
This system has 44 overs and 15 unders (75-percent) since 1996 and our system play for Friday is on the Jazz and 76ers Over 185.5 points.
