Wednesday, September 12 – With Week 1 NFL in the books, the discussion in the Sports Betting Forum at Everyedge.com has mostly turned back to MLB picks and early college football picks. But now that the new NFL season has begun, there is always an NFL thread or two going.
There are early NFL picks being discussed right now in the Everyedge Sports Betting Forum
On that note, Everyedge.com forum member “Jughead” posted a couple of early NFL Total plays. One from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. NY Giants game and the other from the Week 2 Monday nighter featuring the Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons.
Here’s Jughead’s thoughts on the Bucs-Giants Total:
“The Giants’ secondary worries me but CB Prince Amukamara might be ready. They need all the help they can get back there. I think the front seven steps up big for this game. NY D is not gonna let two teams in a row walk into their house and bully them around. Those few extra days or prep (rest) will help.
TB’s D-line is getting huge props for how they controlled the line of scrimmage against CAR. NY’s O-line is not what it used to be but off a home loss, I could see HC Coughlin putting together a run-oriented gameplan that gets plenty of touches for his new RB tandem and sets up the pass for Eli. NY only carried 19 times last week and last year one of their secrets to success was having two backs they could rely on for 10-15 carries each. New York’s average number of carries in the 13 games where RBs Jacobs and Bradshaw were 100-percent active was 27.3.
The Giants went 6-1 SU in the seven games where they carried the ball at least 29 times (5-1-1 ATS). Wilson had that fumble against DAL and the best way to get over it is with 5-10 carries this week.
TB’s got the new v-JAX and Williams combo on the outside but they ran the ball last week 36 times compared to 24 pass attempts. That could change this week but I don’t think a rookie HC wants to do anything too drastic. Not on this stage.
Tampa didn’t score much on the road last year and when they did it was against porous D’s or in garbage time.
